Wires tethering street lamp pole to ground have started to unravel and are causing a safety hazard to people walking by. Saw a person get scratched by the wire sticking out this morning.

Just went to check the city's website for some contact information and when I clicked on a menu item, I'm being sent to some strange cityofnewhaven.com site that has nothing to do with the city (see picture below). What's going on with the city website?!

Old used tires dumped in the tree belt.

Large pothole is back at intersection of Whalley and Winthrop directly under traffic light. This was patched a few weeks back but hole has reopened and could cause serious damage to a tire. Just saw car swerve dangerously to avoid it.

Planet Aid collection box next to Whalley Glass is full and clothes have now been dumped all other the ground in front of the box and sidewalk. Please clean up, thank you!

University Place sign hanging, needs to be fixed.

Crosswalk button for the crosswalk sign on the corner of Whalley & Winthrop in front of Whalley Pizza is loose and wire is exposed. Button needs to be secured before it falls off or damaged.

As I was driving down Chapel Street in the Westville neighborhood toward Forest Rd. to pick up my daughter from work, I noticed this nice traffic calming measure and wondered if something like this could be placed on my street, Winthrop Ave. I'm assuming that the reason this was put in was because there is a high incidence of speeding down this long stretch of Chapel; well there is also a very high incidence of cars speeding down my street, which is the one way side of Winthrop. There have been several accidents on my street over the years due to people speeding down the street and since it is a straight shot to from Whalley to Goffe Terrace, people seem to think this is an invitation to go as fast as possible. Since we can't seem to get a speed bump or even a stop sign at the corner of Winthrop & Percival facing Winthrop to break up the street, it would be nice to have something like this, although I wonder if this wouldn't invite people to drive even faster. What has been the experience with these types of signs, do they make things better or worse and can someone explain why we STILL can't get a speed bump here, even though there seem to be a few in the Westville and East Rock neighborhoods? Does the inner city not matter until someone gets seriously hurt or killed???

Just want to give a huge THANK YOU to Steve Fontana and Doug Hausladen for finally putting up a cross walk signal on the corners of Whalley & Winthrop Avenues! I have personally been fighting for this for the past 5+ years and getting nowhere, but thanks to the Main Street Initiative on Whalley Avenue and the work of the Main Street committee, this has finally come to realization and it works great! The residents of the neighborhood THANK YOU!

I had a bulk trash pick up done today in front of my house and when they were done, they left a big mess on the sidewalk! I was not home at the time, but my mother was and saw the pickup and went out after they were done and swept up all the mess they left behind. I'm not sure why they didn't sweep up afterwards since I personally saw them do a pick up for my neighbor across the street a few months ago and that crew swept up and left the sidewalk nice and clean. Can someone in public works please remind ALL their crews that they need to sweep up after a bulk trash pickup? Thank you!

This property experienced a fire several months ago and is still sitting with fire damage. The windows and door opening has been boarded up, but the outside looks terrible and there is overgrown grass in front of the house. Since this house sits in a prominent location on the corner of Winthrop & Goffe Terrace, it would be helpful if something could be done to at least make the outside of the house look better because it looks terrible now.

The sign for this business plaza is cracked and broken and looks horrible! We are trying to beautify and attract new business to Whalley Ave and this does not help. Again if we had a neighborhood specialist for district 10 they could address this issue.

This is a Mandy Management property. The front door looks like it is going to fall apart and the weeds are over grown on the front side of the property. We are trying to clean up Whalley Ave and make it more attractive and this property doesn't help with that at all. They also sometimes have a small blue dumpster out in front of the property that is overflowing with trash. We need an LCI specialist for district 10 so that issues like this can be addressed.
